WOS Auto Downloader is a Chrome extension that helps users automate exports from Web of Science result pages in compliant batches.

Summary

WOS Auto Downloader does not sell personal data and does not collect or transmit the content of exported records or downloaded files. Most extension data is stored locally in the user's browser to support settings, trusted origins, and export state.

Information We Process

1. Data stored locally on your device

The extension stores the following information locally in Chrome storage:

• export settings such as batch size, wait time, and safe mode preferences
• trusted origins approved by the user
• local runtime state needed to manage export progress
• developer log entries if developer logging is enabled
• locally generated analytics identifiers and session state

This data is used only to operate the extension.

2. Data related to downloads

The extension monitors Chrome download lifecycle events for files created by the extension in order to:

• create export downloads
• rename and route files into the WOS_Exports folder
• detect when a download has completed before continuing to the next batch

The extension does not upload downloaded file contents to our servers.

3. Website access

The extension runs on official Web of Science domains and, if the user explicitly approves them, on custom institutional or proxy access domains. This access is used only to automate the export workflow on those pages.

4. Analytics

The extension may send limited anonymous product analytics to Google Analytics. These analytics may include:

• extension version
• feature usage events
• basic runtime or interaction events
• anonymous client and session identifiers generated by the extension

Analytics are used only to understand extension usage and improve reliability.

The extension does not send:

• exported record contents
• downloaded file contents
• passwords
• payment information
• browsing history outside supported pages and user-approved trusted origins

• run the export automation workflow
